Welcome to the SUPICA website!

SUPICA is the English acronym for "Specialized Units Police Insignia Collectors Association".

The idea was born in 2005 in the minds of Dominic Verstappen and Hans Moors, and is complemented by Jef Lauwers and David Rummens.
We wanted to publish 4 magazines a year for and by collectors about the world of specialized police units and their insignia.
Specialized units are all units that do more than basic policing or have a specialized knowledge, such as special operations units, riot units, K9 units, bicycle teams, Disaster Victim Identifications teams, etc ...

We certainly do not want to compete with existing national and international associations and organizations, nor would we invade their market.
We are supplementary and focus on a specific audience.
Inter alia we have good ties with APICA.
Our association will not only regroup collectors, but also colleagues from police and justice around the world.

Our values:

- members are employee of a department of public safety (police, justice, military, customs, penitentiary etc) or have been nominated by the board
- worldwide friendship and collegiality high priority bear
- collecting patches is about friendship and not about money; honour the patch and the unit where it stands for
- all members can contribute to our association
- our association wants to be modern and to use the current media

All new members receive the SUPICA patch.

From 2006 till 2010 we have published 4 excellent full-colour magazines in Dutch and in English.
But more and more it became difficult to respect the deadlines for the printed edition.
It also costs a lot to offer a high quality magazine to our members, as well as the prices for mailing the magazines to all our members around the world.

So a new era has arrived and we choose to enter the digital world.
We hope by this way we can offer you even more quality, much faster and accurate and up to date.
In exchange the membership fee will be increased from 17 euros per year to 7 euros for 2011.
This will cover our expenses for website spaces, use of PayPal, membership cards and create new opportunities to do something for our members.
We also need to pay open bills to the editor.
Depending on the success of our new formula, the contribution can be increased even more in 2012.

We hope to enter this new era with all of you on board and want to thank you for the trust over the years and for the years to come.
